A basic has posted today to a Service Academy Forum so some basics have their computers up and running! Hooray, our basics will be back in the technology world soon (sorry postal service but I am DONE with those snail-mail letters)!

I also had the chance to chat with our girl on Facebook. We (the whole family, except dad, who is on his way to Colorado Springs) was on chatting with her at one time. I think this has been the best day since DDI; even better, because I don't feel sad after we finished. I know we can be in touch again!

She's been in Executioners for BCT and in CS-19 for the academic year. Anyway, I just wanted to send my regards and congrats to you on completion of BCT! Great Job!!!

I just realized after catching up with my reading on the forum that you are there already. Good for you! my DH, Joe should be arriving in Denver in about 30 minutes. My daughter Jessica is in CS19 and has previously used Facebook so I am pretty excited to hear from her. How about information on how she connects with this community? Does anyone know how much the cadets use this site?

We are trying to get the word out to the cadets that we are here. and have them check it out. so Please tell you daughter to come check it out. WE have live, chat, Social groups, Private cadet forums, Blogging an more that that is here for the cadets. Please help us get the word out to the cadets. There are still many who are not aware that this site is here. Thanks

Hi...Rachel was on the site before her dad and me. As a matter of fact, she introduced us to it. When Joe sees the girls on Wednesday for lunch, I will have him talk to them about it. If she needs any help, Rachel will give her the information. By the way, I saw that she, Rachel, and Olivia are all friends on facebook already. I believe Rachel told her dad that Jess and Rachel are no longer room mates, but still in the same area. Have a good evening.

Just got a note from my son - Roadrunners - 32 (Hellcats).

Mom is worried about his health - Jack's Hack, just got over the swine flu, dislocated his shoulder first week at Jack's. He seems to be pretty upbeat though.

lots of emails from alex today but we haven't been on facebook at the same time to chat. alex said server was down for a while. yes, he doesn't seem so far away now that we can email. whew!

They are still on government computers and a government-run web LAN...so just tell them to be careful what they post because their computers WILL be monitored at all times.

Thanks for the offer, I'm sure Nathan would appreciate it. The one thing we'd like to know soon is if we can send vitamins - Vitamin C, multi, B Complex, garlic - that sort of thing. Stuff we know from experience that helps with the healing process. We'd pack up a box and send it, but we don't want to cause issues or have it get tossed (natural vitamins are expensive).
