Default Salt Grass Steak House

We ate at the Saltgrass during orientation and I thought the food was good. Also, they serve sweet tea for all of the southern cadets.

Ditto from us. Son is a big steak eater and always insists on a visit to Saltgrass whenever we're in town.

Also tried the German restaurant, Edelweiss, during I-Day visit and that was very good as well. It's a bit removed - take I-25 south and then exit on Tejan St. but worth the drive if you like German food. Son said the Brats were almost as good as he'd had last summer in Germany.

Apparently they don't get much "meat" at the academy. Just a lot of chicken. And my son says the fish is not recognizable as fish. He always wants steak when he comes home so I'm putting Salt Grass Steak House on my list for PW. Love the name!!!!

The Salt Grass in COS is pretty good for a Colorado version (I love the SG here at home).

If you can afford the big bucks and want AMAZING steak (filet, yum yum), Ruth's Chris in Denver is to die for.

Forget the big bucks for Ruth Chris. We're paying many body parts to fly there for PW from Palm Springs.

Sorry to inform you that the Ruth Cris in Denver closed down a while back. If I remember right from the news the owner had some tax problems. So don't drive to Denver expecting to go there. There are a number of other good steak restaurants in the Denver area. One on the south side of town that is really good is Del Frisco. It is just of I-25 at Orchard. Another one that I thought was good is Elway's in Cherry Creek. And there are many more.

Was not aware, very sad. At least I still enjoy the one here in Houston!

My husband and son recently returned from a "senior trip" to Colorado Springs. They ate at the Salt Grass and just loved it! I'm sure it is going to be on the requested list for every visit!

We ate there with Jeremy during PW last year and the food was real good as was the service. We found everyone there to be prompt, courteous, and all offered service with a smile. A very enjoyable experience and I recommend it highly!
