Endurance
It seems like a simple concept. Find that last ounce of energy to run that final stretch in the race. That's endurance.

Well, Parent's Weekend was a wild ride, wasn't it?

I have to admit that I went into the weekend a little anxious and apprehensive. I read a lot, warning how my cadet will probably just want to sleep, let your cadet lead the way, don't stay too close to the Academy, don't stay too far...etc. I also travelled to Colorado already dreading the good bye. But, I resolved to just take each moment as it came, and try to enjoy every drop.

Well, the marches done, parades over and have seen all my son's classes. We ate wonderful fajitas at the CS-33 BBQ Friday and they were sure tasty! Not a bad feast for $3.00. We attended a nice "Meet and Greet" picnic type at Pinic shelter #2 at the FamCamp, where we happened to be staying also. Not too bad of a walk there. Met some very nice folks and they met us and we were finally able to place faces with names. It always amazes me how different people really look when you finally...

Well, second BCT started much like the first...push-ups in the hallway. By this time, we were rather expecting as much, and the heavy metal contributed to the fun...at least until we broke and the cadre kept going (an enduring theme of my 2nd BCT).

2nd BCT is much more physically oriented than 1st BCT. It is also much more enjoyable. No longer will that speck of dirt in your window runner cost you on an inspection. To anyone who enjoys camping, Jacks Valley tents are MUCH superior...
