I have twin daughters, and they are my only children. That says more about me than you can possibly understand unless you have experience with twins. If you have ever wondered if God has a sense of humor, believe me He does. He gave me two beautiful girls that unfortunately came along with two heads of hair (I don't do hair, even mine) and two totally different personalities!
Most of you are at least a little familiar with Hilary, but you don't know that much about her twin sister Taylor. She is my "color outside the lines" child. She is very intelligent and curious and questions everything. If there is a debate somewhere you can be sure that she is in the center of it all. If she walks into a room full of strangers she will know something about everyone before she leaves. Taylor wants to do everything and has had a little trouble focusing on any one thing. College is changing that just a bit.
Taylor can't spell at all but she can write beautifully. She has always had a special way of making up stories and putting her words on paper. I have asked permission to print a recent essay she wrote for her Freshman Eng. Comp class and she said it would be ok. The topic is femininity and the thoughts are all her own. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Femininity is not harsh words or a strong hand. It is soft yet firm. It is not forceful but it is persuasive. Femininity is not necessarily athletic but it does not discriminate. Femininity is not easy. It is hard, tiring work constantly supporting, affirming, and loving. Femininity is to be cherished. A man could not handle being feminine; he would not last. He would break under the pressure just as a woman attempting to be masculine
A feminine woman has great effect on the people around her. She causes men to feel more masculine and children to feel loved. She causes confidence and strength. By being a good wife she inspires her husband. She causes people to respect her and themselves. People love her.
A feminine woman is wise. She knows what to say and when to say it. She is a mother, a nurse, a teacher, a friend, a playmate, and a lover. She is a superhero when needed but allows her husband to save her at times. She knows when she is right, but will admit when she is wrong. She puts other first but never lets herself go. She has courage. She can be a shoulder to cry on, but allows herself to cry. She knows that courage is being scared but doing it anyways. She is not afraid to show her emotions. She always knows what colors match but knows when to let it go. She understands which battles to fight.
Being feminine is not being perfect but accepting flaws. Femininity is something to admire and strive for. She causes good effects from everyone around her. Men desire to be around women with femininity. Women also desire the same thing. She has her priorities straight. She is beautiful.

Femininity
It is grace, poise, and silent strength. It’s the ability to remain composed in most situations. It is the loving nurturing heart of a mother and a wife. It is beautiful and it is tough. It is simply love; for self and everyone else. It is to be respected.Femininity is not harsh words or a strong hand. It is soft yet firm. It is not forceful but it is persuasive. This is a very beautiful piece. It shows intelligence, it is cohesive, and most of all, it shows an excellent comprehension of "what femininity is about". It appears that Taylor is not only capable of coherent thought, but she is able to express it on paper with words, a very treasured talent!
I appreciate very much, your sharing that essay with us and if you would, please thank Taylor for allowing me to become acquainted with her as well as her sister.Posted 10-30-2008 at 06:16 AM by pojack
