Default How to resize images in window XP

If you want to share your digital images by email or through the web, you will need to resize them 1st so the file is not too big. You image file size should be well under .5MB Here is one method for resizing in windows xp.

If you know of another method for windows XP, please add to this thread by clicking New Replay and posting direct link.

If it is an image tutorial you may want to create a new thread so you can use the "Image Tutorial" prefix.

If the tutorial is for another operating system (i.e. Mac) please create new thread to post.

If you have question or comments about this tutorial Please click "new reply" to post your message. I hope this helps

For those of you that are having problems uploading images to the Gallery or the User cp albums it is probably because you are trying to upload a Print quality, vary large image up to the internet. There is a file size limit so you will need to lower the size and quality to "web Quality" This tutorial is one place to learn how to do this.

If they're too big, they won't upload, I know I'm having problems :-)
If you haven't had any problems so far, your images are fine.

Post Re: How to resize images in window XP

Ya'll need to keep in mind also that when you open, close, resize, and do anything with a jpeg image, every time you work with it, you lose a bit of the quality. There are programs which allow you to save without losing quality but they are 'add-ons' to XP and/or Vista. The loss is usually negligent but if you work them a lot, eventually there will be a definite loss. It is always better, if you work with the images a lot, to save them in TIFF or some other format and when and if you email them or send them to a friend, save them in jpeg format. JPEG is one of the most used files to save photos.
