FAQ: How Do I make a Hyperlink (text becomes link)?

Instead of copying and pasting a link in a post or signature, a very cool option is to make the word a link like you see in my signature for "my intro thread" Here is how to do this

1. Go to page you want to link and copy the URL

2. create a post or reply . If you want in you signature you need to go to user CP and "Edit Signature"

3. when you get to the text you want to hyperlink, Highlight that text.

4. on the edit bar above where you see fonts, size, attahment icon, etc.....There is a globe looking thing w/ a chain link in it. This is image to look for and click on: If you hover mouse over it it will say "insert link".

6. before you click on it, make sure you have the text you want to hyperlink highlighted.

7 Click on the "insert link" icon and paste the url you have copied and now you have hyperlink. You will see code until you saved post but you will see it in post after you save.





I am encouraging everyone to make a Introduction Thread and add a hyperlink to it in your signature. This is a cool way for people to quickly leave message to you on your thread and find out about you. Please make sure you are subscribed to any thread you create to keep the discussion going.

You can access your "Edit Signature" area by "Quick links" on the navbar.

I am very confused - sorry I am technologically challenged. I think I am "intro-ed" now - always thought I was......but have NO IDEA why/how to hyperlink. Any thoughts? I printed out your directions and got more confused......so hopefully I can read posts and post posts now, but now sure. Please help if possible. Otherwise, I will muddle through and just lurk

Her you go deborah I will make one here for you to your signature

Highlight, right click, and copy this code:

Go to user CP (link found up top)

go to Edit signature (in side bar in usercp)

And past the code you copied in to your signature box!

And this will appear in your signature of all your post:

My intro ( this is a hyperlink-text is a link- to your intro!)

Go to the forum yo want to post the new subject in and you will see a LInk called "new Thread" above all the thread in the forum in top right. Click on that and a message box just like a post message box will pop open. You will need to give the tread a titles. After you are done with the message you click. Submit Thread at bottom of the message box. Let me know if you need more help.

If you think deborah had a hard time...you should audit what I have tried to do to duplicate your instruction. Maybe my trouble is I'm not even on facebook? Would you mind doing the same for me?

Well you were close! you actually had the yellow guy link to your profile and not your intro. Your intro was created in Community introduction and when you open it up, you copy the URL of the address of your URL.

Do not feel bad! I did not know how to do this 1 1/2 years ago and I created this site.

Just copy the code I made for you and paste in your signature.
